VINE GROVE, KY- In the midst of a worldwide pandemic, it’s reassuring to know that Gina Ryan and great people of Hardin County Educational and Community Television (HCEC-TV) are still working to advertise the awesome students and staff of HCS.
In a new continuing tradition, partnering with HCEC-TV, spring J. T. Alton 8th Grade athletes were able to once again tell the stories of their seasons, and years in Middle School. These interviews are now posted to Youtube on the HCEC-TV Channel for public viewing and will be used as halftime and pregame fillers for the channel’s coverage of local sporting events next fall.
“We have so many great students that help us out over here at HCEC, and then the pandemic hit, so it’s now just a handful of us working remotely, but we’re still trying to produce and push stuff out for some sense of normal,” says Ryan.
When approached by Alton Athletic Director Richard Rowland earlier this school year, HCEC-TV Coordinator/Producer, Gina Ryan, said that she loves doing athlete features for all the schools, but it takes school support to make it happen. “I would love for every HCS middle and high school to take advantage of this service we offer, but it takes support from the schools,” said Ryan.
“I’m really thankful that Gina finished these up for us, and for these kids. With all that’s going on, we need to make sure, as educators, that we’re providing our kids with as much a sense of normalcy as possible, or at least that should be one of our goals,” says Rowland, “We are glad that we are able to get these athletes some more recognition...these are all talented kids that are destined for high school athletic careers, if not beyond,”
