Originally from Evansville, Indiana, Laura holds a Bachelors in Music Education and a Masters of Music in Horn Performance degree from the University of Louisville. She presently teaches band at West Hardin Middle School in Stephensburg, KY.
Her private teachers include Kenneth Albrecht, Kenneth Freidenberg, Jerry Ball, Kenneth Olson, Charles (Skip) Snead, and Myron Bloom.
Besides being a regular in the pit at the Hardin County Performing Arts Center, Laura can also be seen as a cast member in various productions. Laura is a member of the Heartland Brass Quintet, the Top Brass Quintet, the Heartland Winds, the Louisville Winds, and the Derby City Brass Band. Laura is also serves as Librarian of the Heartland Winds.
She is formerly a member of the Evansville Philharmonic, the Louisville Civic Orchestra, the Southern Baptist Seminary Orchestra, the Evansville Symphonic Band, the Woodland Chamber Winds, Imperial Guard Drum and Bugle Corps, and the Bloomington Brass Band. She has also performed with the Louisville Orchestra, the Louisville Ballet, the Louisville Broadway Series, the Kentucky Opera, Rosemary Clooney, the Rockettes, Tommy Toon, Blood, Sweat, and Tears, Robert Goulet, Keith Obrion’s New Sousa Band, the Louisville Bach Society, and Music Theater Louisville.
Laura has two grown children, Kelsey and Spencer. She is also Grandma to Turner, Bridget, and Lydia.
