Welcome! I'm Mike Robinson, and I'm excited to work in the English department at John Hardin High School. The 2020-21 school year will be my eighth year as an educator, with seven of those here at John Hardin. I believe that building positive relationships is the key to helping students achieve their potential.
All learning takes place when we are just a little bit uncomfortable; as such, all students should be expected to work hard by parents and made to work hard by teachers. There will some bumps along the road, but those bumps indicate that your student is moving and making progress instead of staying still or, worse, falling behind. I owe each of my students the opportunity to make real progress while in my class, and I believe that pushing them to new heights will ultimately teach them determination, stamina, and grit. I will strive to be professional every day when I step in the classroom, and will always give your student the respect they deserve.
I hope to hear from you and welcome communication. Students will always succeed when teachers and parents are partners in education.
The dream begins with a teacher who believes in you, who tugs and pushes and leads you to the next plateau, sometimes poking you with a sharp stick called 'truth'.
The purpose of education is to replace an empty mind with an open one.
