Mrs. Brus' Bio

Hello!!! My name is Ashley Brus and I am proud to say that I have the honor of being the Assistant Principal here at Woodland Elementary School in Radcliff, Kentucky. The 2021-2022 school year marks my fifteenth year as a Woodland eagle and seventeenth year in education! I was born and raised in San Antonio, Texas and that is where I began my teaching career in 2005 as a kindergarten teacher. After that initial year, I taught one more year in Texas as a first grade teacher until my husband took a job here in Kentucky at Fort Knox. We moved here the summer of 2007 at which time I was lucky enough to be chosen by this tremendous crew here at Woodland to be part of their family as a second grade teacher. For four years, I taught second grade with a wonderful group of educators, but then was given the opportunity to stretch my wings and take on a fourth grade position. It was so awesome to be reunited with my second graders that year and I loved my kids so much, the following year I followed them to fifth grade. It was bittersweet to see my kids whom I had taught for three years move on to middle school, but it was such a rewarding experience. Just when I thought it couldn't get any better, the Assistant Principal position opened and I was selected for the job. I can't believe it, but that was eight years ago now and I am still just as humbled and appreciative for the opportunity to serve my students, families and staff at the administrative level. I am so excited for the 2021-2022 school year and I look forward to all the adventures and successes it brings!!!
