As I complete my 32st year as an educator in Hardin County Schools, I am happy to say that I love what I do and I can't imagine doing anything else. I began my teaching career in 1989 at North Hardin High School after graduating from the University of Kentucky with teaching certifications in French and English. While teaching English at NHHS, I completed Masters degrees in English and in library science which led me to an opportunity to work as a library media specialist at NHHS. During the construction of John Hardin High, I was hired as the library media specialist for Hardin County's newest high school. For 19 years, JHHS has been my second home. I love the school, the staff, and the students here! We truly are a family at John Hardin High.
In addition to serving as JHHS library media specialist, I am the facilitator for the student-run live daily news program, an advisor for the Student Y Chapter, and the coordinator of the JHHS peer mentor program.
This is my fifth year serving as a teacher representative on the JHHS school-based decision-making council (SBDM). I also serve as the school technology coordinator and I am a member of the Focus40 planning committee.
I am the mother of two wonderful young men who are proud John Hardin High graduates.
