Family Welcome Letter

Dear Families,

It is hard to believe the summer is over and we have officially begun the new school year! We definitely look forward to an exciting school year!

Be respectful, be responsible, be ready!
Woodland implements these throughout the building, and though they’re pretty simplistic, they encompass what we expect of our students!

ClassTag: In an attempt to keep the lines of communication open and immediately accessible, Woodland Staff will use ClassTag. ClassTag is an instant way to receive text messages and important reminders directly from your teacher. ClassTag is accessible via the web at or available as a free app for your mobile devices.
You should receive an invite to the email address and/or phone number you have listed on school paperwork. PLEASE register when you receive this invitation.

The third grade homework packet is sent home each Friday and is due the following Friday. The packet includes three items:

  • Reading - A one-sheet fluency passage with comprehension questions

  • Math - A one-sheet facts and skills practice

  • Spelling - A one-sheet list of the weekly spelling words

Please be on the lookout for returned papers with a “Please Sign and Return” sticker on them. These items will be sent home in Homework Folders. Signed papers that are returned to school may receive Bonus Points and prize opportunities.

Our Mission: Woodland Elementary believes in our students and has high expectations for them, just as we know you do. Together we can be a great team that supports and works together to ensure that your student rises to the challenge and is successful in achieving all they aspire to accomplish and more. We look forward to working with you and your family!

Please contact me with any questions, comments, or concerns. I anticipate an amazing third grade experience for your students and we plan to have an awesome school year.

Thank you!
Miss Valone
