Hardin County Schools established a committee comprised of staff, parents, a Board of Education member and community members to bring a proposed 2019-20 school calendar to the Hardin County Board of Education.
In its initial meeting, the committee came up with three calendar options.
It now seeks the input of students, staff, parents and community members on those options. Stakeholders are asked to vote for either Option 1, Option 2 or Option 3.

Below is a list of the major differences in the three options:
- Option 1 is a traditional HCS calendar with no “built-in” make-up days
- Option 2 does not have as many “off-days” built in to the calendar
- Option 3 is a traditional HCS calendar with “built-in” make-up days
The final decision on the 2019-20 calendar is made by the Hardin County Board of Education. The Board can choose between one of the three proposed options or can make changes.
The survey will remain on the HCS website through November 8, 2018. The Board will likely discuss calendar options at one of its regular meetings on November 15.
