Laura Beth Hayes has been selected to serve as the next principal at North Park Elementary School.
North Park is home to preschool and Kindergarten students that will attend grades one through five at Meadow View Elementary School, Radcliff Elementary School, Woodland Elementary School and Vine Grove Elementary School.
Mrs. Hayes is currently the assistant principal at Creekside Elementary School in Sonora.
“I am honored and excited to join the fantastic team of educators, students and families at North Park,” Mrs. Hayes said. “I strongly believe in the powerful influence our school community has on students during preschool and Kindergarten. I look forward to the opportunity to serve our students and take an active role in the school and surrounding community. I’m extremely grateful to the Creekside Elementary family. It provided me with an opportunity to work with a stellar staff and supportive families while growing and developing as a leader.”
She served ten years as a third-grade, fourth-grade and music teacher at Lakewood Elementary School in Cecilia. She also spent eight years as a third, fourth and fifth-grade teacher at Morningside Elementary School in Elizabethtown before her tenure started at Creekside.
“Mrs. Hayes is a tremendous teacher and leader,” Hardin County Schools Superintendent Teresa Morgan said. “Her professionalism is beyond reproach. Her kind heart and ability to unite people are absolute assets that help students reach their full potential. She understands the needs of our youngest students and has the knowledge and wisdom to help them, their families and the North Park staff work toward common goals.”
She graduated from Campbellsville University with a Bachelor of Science degree in elementary education. She also holds two Master of Arts degrees from Campbellsville. She is a National Board Certified Teacher and is working toward a doctorate in education.
“She is a true servant leader,” Mrs. Morgan added. “She has always had a tremendous rapport with fellow teachers, administrators, parents, community members and students. She is involved in our communities and has an innate ability to form and nurture relationships. I know she will be successful.”
Mrs. Hayes will begin her work at North Park this summer. She replaces current NPES principal Kelly Stone who is retiring.
