Hardin County Schools Superintendent Teresa Morgan has asked former HCS administrator Jennifer Lewis to serve as the interim principal at James T. Alton Middle School.

Principal Kevin Estes resigned his position late last month to become the new Chief Academic Officer for Ballard County (KY) Schools.

Mrs. Lewis will serve in the interim role until Mrs. Morgan can meet with the school’s Site-Based Decision Making Council.  The council will meet to discuss a timeline for the selection of the next principal.

Ms. Lewis taught at Bluegrass Middle School for nine years and was assistant principal at the former Radcliff Middle School (the same building that now houses Radcliff Elementary) and G C Burkhead Elementary School for five years. She was principal at Lincoln Trail Elementary School for more than 11 years.  She retired from the district in 2017 as Director of Federal Programs and Leadership Development.

Since retirement, she has served HCS as an Instructional Practice Coach and as an interim principal at Radcliff Elementary School.
