Hardin County Schools is taking applications for its 2021 Class of Distinguished Alumni.

The annual HCS Distinguished Alumni Luncheon will take place on September 17, 2021, in Nannette S. Johnston Hall at the HCS Early College and Career Center (200 University Drive, Elizabethtown, KY).  The event has traditionally been on a Thursday.  This year’s luncheon is on a Friday in hopes that the honorees can attend and be recognized at their alma mater’s football game that evening.  Central Hardin High School is at home and John Hardin High School visits North Hardin High School on September 17, 2021.

“This is one of our best events each year,” HCS Superintendent Teresa Morgan said.  “I encourage everyone who has a connection to Hardin County Schools to nominate an HCS alum that has excelled in his or her chosen profession or has made outstanding contributions to his or her community.  Our alums are important to us and this is a fantastic way to honor them.

“We could not host this event last year because of COVID-19.  We could have done it virtually.  However, the Distinguished Alumni Luncheon is special.  We wanted the honorees to have the ability to fellowship with each other, tour our schools and visit former teachers and friends.”

The deadline for nominations is July 2, 2021.  Nominees must have graduated from any of the current or former HCS high schools no less than five years ago (2016).
