Aloha! I was born in Hawaii and raised in Florida. Hello Sunshine! I have called Hardin County my home for three years. I went to Western Governors University where I earned my Bachelors in Education. I am married to my husband, Brian, of 17 years. We have three sons together who also go to school in Hardin County. When I am not teaching I love spending quality time with my family relaxing in nature.
My Mission Statement
I believe that every student has the right to a secure and stimulating environment. Each child is unique, and deserves an opportunity to exhibit their individual characteristics. Students need a place to grow and learn where they are safe, cared for, and encouraged to share their own ideas. I firmly believe that the role of a teacher is to guide learning in young lives. The teacher is not a source of information but a facilitator for the student to access the knowledge they need and will attain. The student will be able to discover for themselves answers to questions in real hands on applications. An important aspect of teaching is to teach things that are relevant and meaningful in the student’s life. I will create a passion for learning, by providing ample opportunity for student input and creation of goals. The ultimate goal is to develop life long learners who have a deep love for learning.
