Today's Announcements - Oct. 1

  • Attention Freshmen-your spirit wear form has been linked to the John Hardin Home page and your Google Classrooms for Jenny Brown, Mandy Cassetty, and Nikki Lafollette. Once you order, please bring payment to Jenny Brown in 404 by this Friday. This Friday is also the order deadline. 

 

  • ATTENTION SOPHOMORES: It’s that time to prepare for homecoming! We will be working on homecoming posters TODAY after school from 3:45-5:00pm. Please make sure your ride is here by 5:00pm. If you have any questions, please see Mrs. Pleasant or Ms. Michael.
     

  • ONE more announcement for seniors! Class of 2021--We are currently WAY behind and need your help for our Homecoming posters! We’ll be working on posters after school on Tuesdays and Thursdays from now until Fall Break. You can sign up in advance outside of Room 232 or just show up after school. If you have any questions about ANY of the senior announcements, please see Mrs. Golden or Mrs. Punjack..  

 

  • Students, if you submitted a wifi registration paper to Ms. O’Daniel but you are having problems registering your device, see the instructions that are on display at the library’s main entrance. If you need further help, see Ms. O’Daniel in the library media center.  Make sure you have a pass from your teacher. 

 

  • The John Hardin Soccer team is selling bulldog masks.  Stop by room 207 and check out the ever so stylish new design then you can be a stylish bulldog.

 

  • The PSAT exam will be given Wednesday, October 14th at 8:30. The cost is $17.00 to take this exam. Students will need to sign up in the Guidance Office.

 

  • Night School will begin Wednesday, October 14th online only.  A teacher will be available virtually each Wednesday we are in school from 3:40-5:00 for assistance with the Apex Credit Recovery program.  Night School can only be taken if you have failed a course previously.  Your teacher can print you an application or you can pick one up in the guidance office.  If you have any questions, please email Tara Graziano.

Attention ALL Juniors:  Instructions regarding the application for the Governor’s Scholar Program can be picked up in the Guidance Office.  Even though you will complete your application on-line, you must print and deliver to the Guidance Office.  Please see the Guidance Office for important deadlines including school deadlines.  GSP is a five-week summer program for outstanding high school juniors to achieve their academic and personal potential, cultivate their leadership capabilities, expand their horizons, and develop their flexibility, creativity, and critical thinking skills.  These final applications are due back to Mrs. Graziano by December 4th.  There is an application preview opportunity due by November 6th (if you submit your rough draft application and would like feedback and suggestions.)  Email Tara Graziano with any questions.

The Governor's School for Entrepreneurs (GSE) will begin accepting applications for summer 2021 on Monday, Nov. 16. GSE brings teens together from around the state of Kentucky, immerses them in a creative space, and arms them with the tools they need to unleash their entrepreneurial spirits. GSE has scheduled seven virtual events this fall for prospective applicants and their families to showcase the GSE experience and dive into the application process. Sports/coaches’ announcement

Practice will begin on Oct 13.  See Coach Moritz for details.  You will need to have your KHSAA physical. We will have a meeting that evening and walk through all of the new procedures and policies.  Archers will be given the JHHS Athlete Handbook to be completed and have parents sign. 

Boy’s Basketball tryouts will be held Monday, October 26th after school from 3:45 - 5:30.  To participate you must turn in an updated physical to Coach McCurry or Coach Jones.

Any girls interested in playing high school basketball stop by room 102 and see Coach Coleman for try out information.
