The U.S. Army Junior Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (JROTC) is one of the largest character development and citizenship programs for youth in the world. JROTC instills in students the values of citizenship, service to the United States, and personal responsibility and a sense of accomplishment.
Students participating in JROTC:
- Do not incur a military service obligation.
- Incur no out of pocket costs.
- Receive all uniforms, equipment, and course materials free of charge.
- Cadets completing three semesters fulfill the ½ credit Physical Education requirement.

JROTC curriculum provides equitable and challenging academic content and authentic learning experiences for all Cadets. Lessons are designed to motivate the Cadet, allowing her or him to learn new information, practice competencies, and apply these skills to a real-life situation.

The JROTC curriculum includes lessons in leadership, health and wellness, physical fitness, first-aid, geography, American history and government, communications, and emotional intelligence.
JROTC Cadets can participate in various extracurricular activities that further enhance their experience, including Raiders, Rifle Team, Drill Team, Color Guard, and JROTC Leadership & Academic Bowl (JLAB).
