Hi! My name is Brittany LaFollette and I teach kindergarten at G. C. Burkhead Elementary. I graduated from Western Kentucky University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education and from the University of the Cumberlands with a Master’s in Education as a Literacy Specialist. This will be my 8th year teaching kindergarten but my first year as a Bruin!
I reside in Elizabethtown with my husband, Josh, our daughters, Ava, who is in 10th grade at Elizabethtown High and Haedyn, who is in 8th grade at T.K. Stone Middle, and our chocolate lab, Saylor.
In my free time I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, traveling, reading, swimming, and cheering on the Kentucky Wildcats!
Kindergarten is a very important milestone for children and begins to build the foundation to a successful educational career. We work hard, play hard, get messy, and have tons of fun while doing it! While academics are very important, kindergarten is also important in building social skills and problem solving skills. We are making mistakes and learning from them, learning how to be great friends, and all about manners. I strive to make our learning environment inviting, fun, loving, and safe. I look forward to guiding you and your child down this new path and embarking on the educational journey together!
Welcome to G. C. Burkhead!
