        How does the media center impact student learning?

  1. Mr. Farmer frequently works with teachers at our school to teach technology and research skills

2. The STLP (School Technology Leadership Program) meets regularly to work on projects for our school

They also run the morning announcements for the whole school!

3. Research shows that having a qualified media specialist working with students has a

huge impact on student achievement.  One study in Ontario 2006) showed that,

"The presence of a school librarian was the single strongest predictor of reading enjoyment

for both grades 3 and 6 students."  (source)
 

    Our Staff:

Mr. Farmer is our media specialist and has been at Woodland since it opened in 1998. He welcomes all our patrons to use the library any time you need it.

Mrs. Johnson is our media assistant. She does a wonderful job running the circulation desk, taking care of library inventory, and helping students.
