Throughout the school year,
To guarantee strong parent
involvement in the school and classroom, the staff will listen and make every
attempt to understand the parents’ goals for their children. In addition, school staff and parents have
developed the following policy.
·
A School-Family Learning
Compact and Parent Involvement Policy will be distributed to each child upon
enrollment asking parents to sign and commit to a partnership with the
school. A copy of
these agreements can be found in the Pupil-Parent Handbook.
·
Information related to
school and parent programs, meetings and other activities will be communicated
through school newsletters, calendars, website and personal invitations sent
home with students.
·
Parents will be provided
with timely information about the Title I school-wide program through parent
meetings, the school website and newsletters throughout the year.
·
Information about the
school curriculum, Kentucky’s Core Content, forms of assessment used to measure
progress and the proficiency level students are expected to meet will be
distributed by the school staff through informational fliers, meetings, school
website and/or parent conferences.
·
Parents will receive
timely information about their child’s state assessment and have the
opportunity to have the results explained to them by the guidance counselor,
school administrative staff and/or classroom teacher.
·
Parents will receive materials and have opportunities
to participate in literacy, technology and other training sessions to help
improve their child’s achievement.
·
Parents will have opportunities to participate in
school decision-making regarding the education of their children through PTO,
the School-Based Decision-Making Council, school committees and parent-teacher
conferences.
·
Parents will be involved in the planning,
reviewing, and improvement of the school’s Title 1 school-wide program and
Parent Involvement Policy through the annual evaluation of the Title 1 program,
SBDM council meetings and in the development of the school’s Comprehensive
School Improvement Plan.
·
Barriers to parental participation, (i.e.
transportation, childcare, etc.) will be addressed based on individual needs
and may be funded by Title 1 in conjunction with the FOR-YOU family resource
center.

A survey of all current VGES
parents will be conducted in the Spring to collect
input about the current school year and to obtain suggestions for improvement
for the following school year.
Meetings
·
Parents will be informed at Rosters R’ Ready Open
House meeting of the school’s participation in the Title 1 program, the
requirements of the program and their right to be involved.
·
Parent meetings and conferences will be held at
various times and locations to meet the needs of families to include teacher
planning periods, before and after school as well.
Vine Grove
Elementary
The Vine Grove Elementary faculty and
staff truly believe that a partnership between the school and home is essential
in providing the best education for each child.
In an effort to strengthen this partnership, a school-family compact has
been developed with input from parents and teachers. Please join with our staff as we commit to
the duties and standards that have been outlined. Below is the actual compact, signed by our
principal, Title I coordinator and your child’s classroom teacher. We ask you and your child to sign and commit
to the parent and student portions of the compact as well.
