Net Meeting
STLP students sold RQUEST, a booklet of research questions and matching Internet sites to explore for the answers, at the KETC (Kentucky Educational Technology Conference) Convention in Louisville, Ky. With some of the proceeds, they purchased a Quik Cam video camera to use for video conferencing and video e-mail with other classrooms around the globe.

Upton Students see & hear Western Key Pals during Net Meeting |
Their first project was a Cultural Exchange between Upton and Western Elementary students using Net Meeting for face to face interviews surveying each other's favorite food, toys, hobbies, video games, and music groups. They used video e-mail to interview their Japanese keypals in Sagamihara, Japan because of the 14 hour time difference between countries. All students participated and were excited and surprised to meet new friends (and cousins and ball team opponents). They are anxious to do more collaboration and produce a chart or brochure of the results of their surveys.
