Careers
Upton School hosted a Career Day recently. Community business owners and
workers came to the Community Center and displayed tools they use to do their
jobs. The students dressed in clothes representing the career they would like
to have when they grow up.

Mrs. Wyatt's class researched different kinds of jobs by skimming the Children's
Dictionary of Occupations and searching the Internet for career information
at Careers
Information for K-12 at the Internet School Library Media Center. Then
they prepared a talking book, ABC
Careers. The book is available in its audio version on each classroom
computer, but the sound does not work on the web at this time.

Read these very funny rhymes and
try to figure out what type of job the poem is describing. This is a great
rhyming web site to learn about community workers.
