Computer Lab

     The program we use in the lab is called Compass Learning Odyssey.  The program includes exciting graphics, interactive animation, creative sound design, and hands-on activities that engage students and envelop them in unique learning experience.

    The program can identify students strength and weaknesses.  Based on initial assessments, Odyssey automatically assigns a learning path for each student.  Quizzes  and other assessments embedded in the activities provide ongoing feedback into student progress. 

     Colorful, dynamic and age-appropriate graphics and audio are combined with explicit instruction and examples to create a student friendly learning environment.  Students have multiple opportunities to grasp a concept.

   Your child can also use it from home with their password.  You can get this off of their teacher.

We have a second lab that is used for research, writing assignments and special projects.  There is a Clifford program  installed on the computers that the kids enjoy doing.  It does not have a set schedule like the main lab.  The teachers can sign up when ever they want some extra computer time for their students. 

We do Star Reading Test four times a year.  It is a computer adapted test.  Students choose the best word to complete a sentence.  Star determines student's instructional reading level. The test takes on an average of 10 to 15 minutes.  Its a useful measure in assessing students progress during the year.
