Templates for WebQuests

As you begin designing your webquest, you may want to use a template to gather all of your information.  Pre-made templates will have the headings and links necessary in storing your information.

On the other hand, since you have perused many webquests you may just want to design each section on your own.  This is up to you.

You may find the following helpful:

Using this template, simply follow these steps:

*   Have the template open in front of you

*   Go to FILE, SAVE AS  Save it to your Desktop.  Type if File: Web page or HTML doc.

*   Open Microsoft Word as a new document

*   Click on the yellow folder icon to open a document.  (The font etc. may have changed, but you will want to use your own anyway.)

*   You should now be ready to work.

*   When you want to save (and do it often so you don't lose anything)  Save it to a floppy disk on your Drive A.  You will need to name the file.  Don't just call it webquest, be more exact. Eg. Matter in Motion Webquest. Save it as a web page or HTML document.

*   From now on all you need to do is click on the diskette icon to save your work

*   Remember to click on the save diskette icon frequently so you will not lose any of your work.

If you decide to design your own:

*   Open Word

*   Create new document

*   Go to Format, background.  You will need to decide on a background, font, color etc.

*   If you are using Word 2000, go to Format, Theme.  Everything will be done for you when it comes to backgrounds, fonts, etc.

*   You will want to add appropriate pictures etc. though.

One other thing I want you to do:  As you find pictures, maps, etc.  that you want to use in your webquest, when you download them to your diskette be sure to site your source:  highlight the URL, copy and paste it directly under your picture. You always want to acknowledge where you found your information.
