Using Microsoft
Word in the Classroom
MSWord
is a very handy piece of software that can be used in several different ways in
any classroom. What are some ways that we could use Word in our classroom?
Create neat lab sheets
Write a letter, address the envelope, or create
labels for mass mailings
Creating an outline for students to study for an
exam
Create book review templates
Create a newsletter
Create a test
Make a flier or sign
Create a brochure/pamphlet
Create a research report
Make an assignment sheet
Create a neat seating chart using a digital camera
Create your teacher web page
Create your curriculum online web lesson or webquest
I feel sure that if we would continue to brainstorm,
we could come up with many more ideas.
In this workshop we will concentrate on how
Microsoft Word can be used, but particularly how Word can be made into a newsletter as a study guide, as a student
report, or as a communication document.
How about using a newsletter as a book report?
The following guidelines need to be
followed in order to receive your six (6) hours of credit:
You will be
given very specific ideas that need to be included in your newsletter.
After you
complete your newsletter, you will send it to me as an attachment.
You will need to teach your students how
to create a newsletter.
You will need to complete all the other general
on line requirements as well.
Only after that has been accomplished
will you receive your professional development credit.
