Who am I?

Hey Class of 2020!  My name is Myra Lewis, and this is my 21st year in education and 13th year as a high school guidance counselor.  I am a 1993 graduate of Central Hardin High School, a 1997 graduate of the University of Kentucky, a 2001 graduate of Western Kentucky University, and a 2012 graduate of the University of Louisville.  I live in Elizabethtown with my husband, Charles, and my children, Tate & Harper.  Oh, and Lucy the pug.  I look forward to working with you this year!

Why do I teach?

I was fortunate to have an amazing English teacher for three out of four years of high school, Ms. Connie Bell.  She encouraged my love of reading and writing.  I knew that I wanted to do the same for future students, and therefore I pursued a career as an English teacher.  My love for working with high school students was furthered in my 12 years as a guidance counselor. My next educational adventure was being an assistant principal for four years, where no two days were ever the same!  I’m back to counseling now, which is my true love & calling.  This position allows me to continue working with high school students and helping them to find success in life.
