Welcome to my webpage! I'm so glad we have found each other!
I am Anita Fisher and this year I begin my 17th year of teaching; my 10th at Howevalley. This will be an exciting year as we are preparing to move into our long-awaited new building. (This is now expected to happen either in November or December.) These 5th graders will long be remembered in my mind as the ones who move to Cecilia Valley with me. It's going to be an exciting and great year!
So how did I become a teacher? Well, I grew up a farm girl in Ohio raising cows and corn. In 1988, I graduated from Ohio University with a degree in Secondary Business Education. I married an Army man, had four children and received my Elementary Certification while living in Michigan. I started teaching elementary school in Michigan in 2001. In 2003, my family moved to Kentucky and bought a farm with cows and hay. I taught four years at Woodland Elementary before moving closer to home to Howevalley. Howevalley/Cecilia Valley is where I belong. These kids are growing up like I grew up and, in my opinion, that makes for a great situation. In 2013 I graduated with my Master's degree and Rank 1 in School Counseling.
This year your children will have to work hard. In fifth grade, the work not only gets more difficult, but it also becomes more abstract which requires a different kind of thinking. I sincerely hope that everyone is ready for the challenge.
In my free time, I love being outside and home on the farm with my family. I'm a very proud wife, mother and Mamaw.
Here's to a great year! The last beginning in our old school!!
