Our world is an exciting place! We are surrounded by science, we just need to get out and experience it! My love for nature takes me to new and wonderful places every year. My hope is to inspire young minds to realize the importance of how science is incorporated into their everyday lives.
A little bit about me: I graduated from WKU with my BS and Masters in Education. I grew up in Elizabethtown, Ky and live right here in downtown Glendale! I have wonderful memories of this small town where a lot of my family were born and raised. I attended Lincoln Trail and East Hardin High School. I have been teaching here at East Middle for the past fifteen years. I'm an avid hiker, having completed the Appalachian Trail in sections during summer breaks...all 2,189.5 miles! I also enjoy road biking, photography, reading, traveling, interior decorating, listening to music, artsy creative things, working in my flower gardens...I am never bored!
I have two wonderful sons; Drew Allen 27 years old (a business major) and Justin Paul 24 years old geology/GIS). do not have any pets at the moment, my awesome chocolate lab; Max passed away a few years ago. Right now I will just enjoy our class pet; Sonny the gecko. He's pretty cool to watch and hold, especially when he sheds his skin!
It's an exciting new school year! We will be learning about the extraordinary and fun world of Science! I am truly looking forward to helping YOU as an eight grader prepare for High School and most importantly LIFE! How fun is that!
"The function of education is to teach one to think intensively and to think critically. Intelligence plus character - that is a goal of true education."
