My name is Mrs. Carpenter. I am married with a two-year old daughter. I enjoy watching University of Kentucky basketball and cheerleading! I also enjoy photography, business marketing, graphic design, and event planning. My favorite artistic mediums are ceramics, graphic design, sculpture and drawing.
As an educator, I believe it is important to be a continual learner and stay connected with a professional community. I am an active member in several professional and community organizations: Hardin County Educator's Association (HCEA), Kentucky Educator's Association (KEA), Kentucky Art Educator's Association (KyAEA), and the National Art Educator's Association (NAEA).
I am a Hardin County native. I attended Howevalley Elementary, West Hardin Middle School and Central Hardin High School. After graduating from Central Hardin High School, I attended Western Kentucky University where I earned my Bachelor of Arts degree in Art Education in 2008. I continued my education and earned my Master of Arts degree in Teacher Leadership at Bellarmine University in 2012. I am currently completing my second Master of Arts degree (Rank I) in School Counseling at the University of the Cumberlands.
I began teaching in the Hardin County School District in 2008 at Woodland Elementary School as the Related Arts teacher. After my first year of teaching, I began teaching Visual Art and Arts & Humanities at North Hardin High School. I have taught Visual Art I, Visual Art II, Visual Art III - Drawing, Visual Art III - Graphic Design, Visual Art III - Sculpture, Visual Art IV, and Advanced Placement Studio Art. I concluded my ninth year of teaching at North Hardin and decided to come back "home" to Central Hardin.
As I enter my tenth year of teaching, I am exciting to begin the 2017-18 school year at Central Hardin High School!
