Entering into my 24th year of teaching high school English and journalism, I am happy to say that I love what I do more than ever. I began teaching in Hardin County at North Hardin High School in 1994 after graduating from the University of Kentucky and transferred to Central Hardin in 1997. I obtained a Master's Degree in Secondary Counseling from Western Kentucky University in 2000 and a Rank I through National Board Certification in 2014.
I enjoy guiding my English students to reach their personal goals in the classroom, including strengthened reading, writing, speaking, and test taking skills. Teaching journalism, I have an opportunity to be part of a truly authentic learning experience through monthly publications of the student newspaper, The Central Times.
I have two sons: Jakob, who is a junior at Central Hardin High School and Reece, who is an eighth grader at East Hardin High School.
