Welcome to Ms Oliver's Homepage!.
I am excited to welcome students to my 25th year of teaching at Central Hardin High School! This is the only school I have taught during my career and I am proud Bruin!
Why Do I Teach? I always enjoyed school as a student and learning is a lifetime endeavor. I had had some wonderful teachers in school who encouraged my love of reading and history. I became a teacher to share that love with others and guide students to being successful and passionate in life and about life through whatever inspires them. They CAN make a difference in the world. I want them to find the spark within them to light their future!
"I touch the future. I teach." Christa McAuliffe

About Me: I was born in Princeton, Kentucky. I lived in Colorado Springs, Colorado; Cadiz, Kentucky; and Ashland, Kentucky. I graduated from Boyd County High School in Ashland. (Go Lions! My heart still skips a beat at the BCHS red and white!) . I have lived in Elizabethtown for 31 years. It's Home.
I attended Berea College and Western Kentucky University, eraning a BA in History/English, and MA in History Education, and a Rank I in Education.
I coach the Academic Team and am very proud of the awards they have earned. I coached the Speech Team in the past and was equally proud of my Speech students. SHaring in the success of students is a reward.
My hobbies are reading, antiquing, baking (State Blue Ribbons!) , and travel. I have 2 Mini Schnauzers (Sophie and GiGi) who I call my ":irls". Love them! I also have a niece (a Central Bruin grad) , her busband and 3 year old daughter who keep me busy also! I'm a devoted aunt to Rachel and Lucy!
