In addition to the District Code of Conduct we have adopted a school-wide motto and discipline plan with specific steps to help students understand expectations for behavior and the consequences of misbehavior.

Meadow View Motto

Citizenship, respect, responsibility, bring out the best in you and me.

We all know what’s right, we all know what’s good, we all do the things we know that we should.

Show your best self at Meadow View!

At the beginning of each day, each student begins anew with the expectations. Removal of cards, sticks, clothespins, stars, or other motivational tokens is usually involved. For each occurrence of misbehavior the consequences are as follows:

1st occurrence – Warning in classroom. Removal of card or other tokens may begin.  First of five steps to be taken before visit to office.

2nd occurrence – Time out (or other age-appropriate measure). Removal of card or other tokens. Second of five steps to be taken before visit to office.

3rd occurrence – Note home to parent OR phone call to parent by teacher and/or student. Removal of card or other tokens. Third step of five taken before visit to office.

4th occurrence – Phone call home to parent by teacher/or conference scheduled. Removal of card or other tokens. Fourth step of five to be taken before visit to office.

5th occurrence – Office Referral with documented misbehavior from the teacher. All other steps shall have been exhausted, all motivational tokens removed and other motivational efforts shall have been attempted.

** A severe violation of school rules will result in immediate action by school administration.

NOTE:  If class uses only 4 motivational tokens and parent has been contacted for 3rd occurrence, on next occurrence move to 5th occurrence.

This is the minimum guideline that teachers will follow when making referrals.
