What is the Lincoln Trail Family Resource Center?

Our Center is part of the Kentucky Education Reform Act.

We have been open since July 1998.  We help our children and

families overcome barriers to learning by providing services at the

center and by linking families with needed resources.  At the Lincoln

Trail Family Resource Center, we give students and their families a

safe, comfortable place to turn for answers and a new direction.

Who runs the Lincoln Trail Family

Resource Center?

Our Center is run by a full-time coordinator who

oversees the Center's daily activities and is directed by

a local Advisory Council made up of parents, school

staff and community representatives.

Who may use the Lincoln Trail Family Resource Center?

The services provided are available to elementary school children, their

families and anyone living in the community surrounding Lincoln Trail

Elementary School regardless of income.  The center is "family focused."

Thus, activities and services are geared to involve the whole family system.

Where is the Lincoln Trail Family

Resource Center?

Our Center is located at Lincoln Trail Elementary

School at 3154 Bardstown Road, Elizabethtown,

Fund Raisers

1.     Collect General Mills' "Box Tops for Education" logos.  These logos are worth 10 cents each and can be redeemed through our school for up to $10,000 annually.  Every logo helps, many Box Tops products are available at your local grocery store, including favorite products like: Cheerios, Fruit Roll-Ups, Betty Crocker desserts, Hamburger Helpers, and Yoplait Multipack yogurts, to name just a few.

2.     If you use a Target Charge Card when making purchases at Target, they will return a portion of the purchase price to the school of your choice (hopefully Lincoln Trail).

3.  Recycle your old cell phones – The resource center will receive money for each donated phone, in addition, the recycling company will donate the usable phone to spouse abuse centers.

The funds from these programs help fund things like-First Connections, the Parent lending library, programs for new and expectant parents, summer programs, and special counseling needs. Just think, if each child in our school brings in 2 boxtops per month, we will have $1080.00 to help make our school a better place!
