Tamira A. Pinson
Personal Background
Both of my parents were educators, and I thank
them for instilling in me the value of having a good education. Both my husband, Raymond, and I were reared
in Williamson, West Virginia. We decided to make Hardin County our
home before he retired from the military because we were impressed with the
school system and accessibility of the area to Louisville.
Educational Background
I received my undergraduate degree in
elementary education from the
University of Louisville. I completed my
Masters and Rank I in school counseling at Western Kentucky University.
My education experience spans over 26 years and includes teaching in the
Department of Defense Schools both stateside and in Germany. I have
been at James T. Alton for 21 wonderful years.
Community Involvement
I am a member of Rineyville Baptist Church.
I belong to the Kentucky Fourth District Counselors Association, Kentucky School
Counselor Association, and American School Counselor Association.
Professional Development
Realizing the importance of keeping up with
new educational concepts, I attended the National Schools to Watch
Conference in Washington, D.C., the American School Counselor Conference in
Chicago, Illinois, and the National Conference of Learning Diversity in Las Vegas,
Nevada last summer.
