Family resource and youth services centers (FRYSC) were created as a part of the Kentucky Education Reform Act (KERA) in 1990. The primary goal of the FOR-YOU FRYSC is to remove nonacademic barriers to learning as a means to enhance student academic success.  Our mission is to improve a student’s academic achievement through the removal of non-cognitive barriers.   The FRYSC staff is committed to helping all students succeed.  We will provide assistance and support to students through the FRYSC as well as promote a positive relationship between family, community, and school.  We are located in the mobile unit directly behind James T. Alton. 

Services we provide include (but are not limited to): 

·        Assistance with basic needs – clothing, school supplies, hygiene items

·        Emergency assistance – utilities, rent, food

·        Family crisis intervention

·        In-school counseling services

·        Vision and dental assistance

·        Assistance with KCHIP/Passport health insurance

·        Holiday assistance

·        Substance abuse education and counseling

·        Career exploration and development

FRYSC Mission:

To enhance students’ ability to succeed in school by developing and sustaining partnerships that promote:

·        Early learning and successful transition to school;

·        Academic achievement and well-being; and 

·        Graduation and transition into adult life.

FRYSC Vision:
The Kentucky Division of Family Resource and Youth Services Centers in the Cabinet for Health and Family Services shall establish the national standard of excellence in the provision of school-based family support.

 

 

The Hardin Co. School District has partnered with Hardin Co. Crime Stoppers to provide a Student Safety telephone line. Students and others may now anonymously call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-597-8123 to report school safety concerns.
