Procedures and Policies

Ipad Mobile Lab User Assignment Document.  This document must be filled out each time students use a school-owned Ipad.
 
Lenovo ThinkPad Tablet Assignment Document.  This document must be filled out each time students use a school-owned tablet.
 
To ensure consistency and uniformity among devices, apps must be loaded only by LMC staff members.  Teachers should request the installation of "free" apps in advance of use.  Students should not attempt to install or delete apps from the devices. 
 
Teachers should ensure that each device has been powered OFF. Charging cables are available and may be requested for use.

Tips and Tidbits.....

*
A mini-lab of 10 tablets is available for classroom use.  Make reservations for use with Ms. O'Daniel.
 
*To open available apps, tap the APPS icon in the upper right corner.
 
*To search the internet, simply tap the EARTH on the Launch Zone in the center of the screen.  Google will open as the browser.
 
*ThinkPads are USB friendly!  Students may copy information from their USB device, and they may save a file to their USB device from the Thinkpad.   Here's one way to pull a file from a USB device.  Using a USB.
 
*Since the external keyboard requires use of the USB port, the user must disconnect the keyboard in order to insert an additional USB device.
 
*Students may email files in Docs to Go via their school email account.

Tips and Tidbits.....

*A mobile lab of 30 Ipads is available for classroom use. Make reservations for use with Ms. O'Daniel.

*Ipads do not have a USB port.

*To search the internet, go to Safari or tap the Google app is it is loaded on the Ipad.

*iClould is not available to HCS network users.  A method by which students may save files created on the Ipad is "in the works."

*Students should NOT connect Ipads to the charging cable on the cart.  Care is required in connecting Ipads to their charge cables.  The classroom teacher should do this.

*The classroom teacher should ensure that each Ipad has been returned to its correct "slot" on the cart.
