3.   Now, take the bottom edge and fold it along a line about one quarter of the way up. This is just an estimate. kimono3.gif (2117 bytes)
4.   Fold the top left and right points of the top layer in, toward the center. Crease well. kimono4.gif (1874 bytes)
5.   Turn the origami over. Fold the top edge down so that just the tip of the collar peeks over the top. Crease. Turn origami back over. kimono5.gif (2930 bytes)
6.   Fold the left side in so that the edge almost touches the collar. Repeat this step for the right side. kimono6.gif (2035 bytes)
7.   Find the rectangle you just created on the left side of the origami. Take the inside corner and fold it out toward the outside edge to create a small triangle. Crease. Unfold. Repeat this process for the right side. kimono7.gif (2170 bytes)
8.   Open up the rectangle on the left side of the kimono and flatten the triangle you made in step #7. Repeat on the right side. Turn origami over. kimono8.gif (2375 bytes)
9.   Fold the top edge down as far as you can. Crease very well. The paper is thick now, so press hard. Turn origami back over. kimono9.gif (1401 bytes)
10. Your kimono is finished! If you like, you can cut a slit in the sleeve so they stand away from the body of the kimono...just like the sleeves of a  real kimono would! kimono10.gif (1684 bytes)
