Ms. Stacy's Origami Flower
1.  Place a square piece of origami paper on a hard surface color side down. Fold paper in half by making a taco fold. Crease. Unfold. flower1.gif (5260 bytes)
2.  Repeat the taco fold with opposite points from step 1. Crease. Unfold. flower2.gif (5258 bytes)
3.  Fold in half again, this time making a hot dog fold. Crease. Unfold. flower3.gif (4078 bytes)
4.  Make a hot dog fold again with opposite sides. Crease. Unfold. flower4.gif (3975 bytes)
5.  Now take left edge of paper to center line of the square. Crease. Take right edge of paper to center line. Crease. Unfold both sides. flower5.gif (4454 bytes)
6.  Fold top edge down to center line. Crease. Fold bottom edge up to center line. Crease. Unfold both top and bottom. flower6.gif (5016 bytes)
7.  Your paper will now have three creases going up and down and from left to right. Your paper will also have an "X" crease too. flower7.gif (4401 bytes)
8. Take each point of the square and fold into the center, where the diagonal creases meet. Crease each fold. flower8.gif (5295 bytes)

10. Take each point of the square and fold into the center, where the diagonal creases meet. Crease each fold. flower10.gif (4927 bytes)
11. Take each point and fold it out toward the outer edge three-quarters of the way out. Crease well. flower11.gif (2989 bytes)

13. Take each middle facing corner of each square and fold toward outer edge as far as it will go. Crease. flower13.gif (3445 bytes)

15. Fold in half like a hot dog. Crease. Unfold. Repeat step folding opposite edges together. Crease. Do not unfold. flower15.gif (3350 bytes)
16. Hold the origami between thumb and index fingers at top left and right corners. Push corners toward center. flower16.gif (2227 bytes)
17. Wrap a pipe cleaner or floral wire around the base of flower for a stem. Shape petals and leaves of your flower with your fingers. flower17.gif (21187 bytes)
