Kentucky Coalition of School
Volunteers Organization
KCSVO was established in 1992 to enhance student
academic achievement with the Commonwealth of Kentucky by fostering school
volunteerism.
Membership in KCSVO
comprises local school volunteer organizations and at large members such as
the Kentucky Department of Education, Kentucky Family Resource and Youth
Service Coalitions of Kentucky, the Prichard Committee for Academic
Excellence, the Kentucky Congress of Parents and Teacher Association and the
Kentucky Retired Teachers Association, as well as other organizations that
endorse the use of school volunteers.
A 22-member board of
directors made up of school, community and business representatives from
throughout the Commonwealth governs KCSVO.
Membership in KCSVO is
open to all schools, school districts, individuals and education
organizations with in Kentucky. Membership benefits include:

A state wide network for
school volunteers

Expect help with integration
of the parent involvement component of each school’s consolidated plan;

Experienced volunteer
coordinators who can provide advice and guidance about how to structure or
maintain
volunteer
programs;
¨
A system to provide statewide
recognition for outstanding volunteer. The divisions are elementary,
middle,.
high school and Central Office.
