Our Mission
The mission of the Hardin County Schools Instructional Services Department,
an interdependent, learning-oriented instructional team, is to continuously
improve learning and performance of all students, staff, and community, by
providing support to align research-based curriculum, instruction, and
assessment with national, state and district standards.

Instructional Services Profile
The Instructional Services Department covers a great range of services
offered by Hardin County Schools.

Assessment covers accountability
assessment, CATS assessment and Open Response Questions.
- Curriculum / Instruction serves all schools in the district
in regards to curricular and instructional matters, as well as the Gifted and
Talented program. Follow this link to view the KDE POS and Combined Document

Early Childhood Program - contains
Head Start Information as well as Preschool information.
- ESS / ESL / Migrant covers Extended School Service, English
as a Second Language and Migrant Education information.

GT Web - helps teachers and
parents with gifted and talented students.

HCEC-TV - this program
provides career and technical education opportunities for students that are
interested in Telemedia as a possible career path.

Media Services - cover educational
resource centers, library media programs and On-Line II standards.
- Migrant Education - for students of families who have moved
into the district for the purpose of employment in occupations that are
typically migratory in nature. ESL - English as a second language. ESS
- extended school service for student who need additional time to meet
their learning objectives.
- Minority Student Achievement (MSA Web) - The Hardin County
School District has been identified by the Kentucky Department of Education as
a Minority Student Achievement District. The Minority Student Achievement Task
Force has reviewed CATS and NCLB assessment data to determine areas of concern
among minority student achievement in the district. The goal of this task
force is to improve minority student achievement.

Special Education covers assessment
referrals, hearing and visually impaired services, occupational therapy,
physical therapy and social work services.

Technology is where to find
technicians and work orders, technology resource teachers, WebQuest and
streaming videos.

Title 1 covers title 1 program
implementation, migrant programs, school/parent involvement and Volunteers.

Professional Development is
responsible for overseeing the professional growth of all certified and
classified employees of the district.
