TRUANCY DIVERSION PROGRAM

EHMS Attendance Policy

Beginning in the 2007 – 2008 school year East Hardin Middle School entered into a collaborative endeavor with the Circuit Court’s Family Court Division to implement a program aimed at eliminating truancy in our school.  Habitual truancy is defined as having 6 unexcused absences.  When a student accumulates 3 unexcused absences they will be given a notification letter to take home to their parent / guardian– if 3 additional unexcused absences then occur, the family will be given the option of participating in the Truancy Diversion Program or having a truancy charge filed through the Court Designated Worker’s Office.  For additional Information about this program, contact our Youth Services Center, the Hardin County CDW Office or the Main Office.

If you have any questions concerning the attendance record of your student please check Infinite Campus (contact the counselors for access code) or contact Joyce Morris, EHMS Attendance Clerk.
