The
German Club is open to any student who is enrolled in a German class during
the present school year and to students who are presently members Delta
Epsilon Phi, the National German Honor Society for high school students.
Dues
are $10.00 per year.
The
Club meets according to the schedule set by the school.
The
purpose of the club is to promote and expand the historical and cultural
information about Germanic speaking countries. Meetings of the past have
included crafts, jeopardy, games, folk dancing, fieldtrips and always food.
Fund
Raisers include selling chocolate filled Advent Calendars, recycling printer
ink cartridges and selling German candy.
Delta
Epsilon Phi is a national honor society for high school students of German. A
student who has had at least two credits in German, a 3.5 GPA in German and
3.2 overall GPA is eligible for selection into this society. The members must
complete service hours in order to earn the honor cords. This organization
promotes the German language as well understanding among all countries. Dues
are $10.00 a year. One time initiation costs are $15.00.
