Here are some ways to get involved in your school community through the Central Times.
Let us know about a fellow student or a Central Hardin staff member (Teacher, Administrator, Counselor, Custodian, Office Clerk, etc.) who needs to be recognized! (yellow sheet)
Let us know about hobbies and/or issues that you'd like to see featured in The Central Times. (yellow sheet)
Exercise your voice with a signed (Your Name Included) letter to the editor. Here are our guidelines:
1) May be submitted in room 112 in handwritten, typed or email form. (Susan.Sherrard@hardin.kyschools.us)
2) It must contain the writer's name and grade level.
3) Letters under 300 words will be given a higher priority.
4) Letters over 400 words will not be published unless special arrangements are made.
Letters may be edited for clarity, grammar, and libelous content.
Submit an advice column question online or on a purple half-sheet. You can take a serious or humorous approach!
Submit a nomination for "The Ultimate Hottie" online or on a hot pink half-sheet. This is a new feature in The Central Times. We want to acknowledge students who have an inner and outer beauty that make them a "hottie" in more than one way!
Submit art, poetry, or prose online or attach it to a blue sheet and return to room 112. This is a great way to get your creativity noticed.
Purchase a classified ad for $1.00 by completing a lime green sheet, attaching a picture if you wish(for an extra cost), and returning it to room 112. You can also do this online and stop by room 112 later to pay. The possiblilties are endless. You can use this inexpensive service to sell your car or musical equipment, look for a car, give away free items, search for something lost, say "Happy Birthday," "Thanks," or "Great Job!" We may even have a job section this year!
Submit a RANT!!! online or on an orange sheet. If you don't have enough time to compose a letter to the editor and just HAVE to get something off your chest, this is a way to get your voice heard.
Buy a yearly subscription to The
Central Times for only $5.00! See us in room 112, and have your paper ready the
morning it comes out, without the effort of remembering your 50 cents!
