AGRICULTURE POWER AND MACHINERY

Description:  Hands-on experience providing instruction in basic principles of Power and Machinery Operation, Maintenance, Service and Repair.  Topics to be presented include engine components and functions, power and power transmission, tractors and field machinery.  Content may be enhanced with appropriate computer applications.  Leadership development will be provided through FFA.  Each student will be expected to have an agricultural experience program.

 

 

Grades:  Grades will be determined on the following ratio.

 

                        ½  test, notebook and written work

                        ½  shop grades

 

 

                        (shop grades will be determined by activities sheet and teacher

                         observation as well as project work)

 

All students are expected to follow the shop guidelines in order to operate in a safe  and orderly manner.

 

·        Students may want to obtain his or her own safety glasses.  If not,  I will have some for general student use.  Safety glasses are required for many activities in the shop

 

·        Students may want to bring some type of protective clothing.
