Brenda Baker Dockins

I have 15 years of experience teaching Resource English  for students with Learning Disabilities at Central. I have also taught  Arts and Humanities.. I grew up in Massachusetts, and as a Military child,  I lived in various places such as Oklahoma,  Germany, Texas, South Dakota, and Montana. In 1984, I moved to Kentucky from Kansas.  As a single parent, I worked 2 jobs as I finished my Bachelor's Degree in Business and Psychology from UK in 92. Then I continued my education at U of L, receiving a Master's degree in Business Education and a rank I in Special Education.   My daughter, Briana, started at CHHS the same year that I started teaching in 1994.  She graduated in 1998 and went on to receive a degree in Exercise Physiology from U of L in 2004. Currently she resides in Chicago and has a career as a Personal Fitness Trainer and Pilates Program Coordinator.  After all these years, I still enjoy teaching. I find it much more rewarding and fulfilling than previous jobs in Business and Management.  I enjoy live music, karaoke, motorcycles, traveling, sailing, snorkeling, tennis, chess, poker, and cats. I love the ocean and visit the Caribbean and other foreign countries at least yearly. I also enjoy visiting family on the coast of Maine
