Lisa Oliver

Welcome to Ms Oliver’s Social Studies and English classes.

I will be teaching World Mythology, Greek and Roman Mythology, Creative Writing,

Kentucky Studies and Holocaust Studies this year.

This is my 17th year of teaching at Central Hardin! I did my student teaching at CHHS

And loved it so much that I became a part of the faculty! I have helped sponsor the Y Club

and the Speech team in the past.

I graduated from Boyd County High School in Ashland, Kentucky. I attended Berea College

and  Western Kentucky University. I have a BA in History and English and my MA in History Education.

I have been honored to have participated in the Belfer Teacher’s Conference I and II at the

United States Holocaust Museum and the North Carolina Teacher’s Holocaust Institute. This summer I was

selected  to participate in a two week summer trip for teachers to Germany to learn about the countries

political,  educational, historical and social  aspects. I hope to bring all of these experiences to my classroom!

When I am not busy with school activities, I enjoy travel! I go to Germany to visit friends and family each

year!  I am going in the summer of 1010 this year. Other favorite spots to visit are Colorado!

I also like to bake. I entered the Kentucky State Fair three years ago for the first

time …and won nothing the first year! But, the past two years I have won ribbons! I also love to shop!

I also garden in the summer.
