Information
The following is a brief list of the
assignments (and dates) that we cover in class.
For more in depth information, feel free to email me (Jonathan.Fairbanks@Hardin.kyschools.us)
and I can try to clarify / give additional information as needed.

Outline Chapter 1 sections 2 and 3. Start working on the Science Root Word
List. Root word quiz on Friday over
the first 11 words (Giga-Pico).
Chapter 1 test scheduled for Monday 15 August. |

Aug 9 |
Discuss outline format and outlines completed by
students. Notes over chapter 1
sections 2 and 3. Hand out 1.2 study
guide. Continue work on root word list
(complete as much as possible). |

Aug 10 |
Chapter 1 section 4 notes / section 1.3 study
guide. Prepare for microscope
introduction lab. Ch 1 section 1-3
quiz. |

Aug 11 |
Microscope Introduction Lab. Students will learn basic microscopy
skills. Also handout section 1.4 study
guide. Finish chapter 1 on Friday,
test on Mon 15 Aug. |

Aug 12 |
Finish Chapter 1.
Complete 1.5 study guide. Root word quiz over the first 11 roots. |

Grade Chapter 1 study guides. Complete chapter 1 review / crossword. |

Test over chapter 1. Window activity for Chapter 2, along with
guided reading activity. |

Aug 17 |
Go over Chapter 1 test / OR. Outline Chapter 2, section 1. Work on 2.1 study guide. Go over root words for quiz on Friday. Root word quiz – 1-20 Friday! |

Aug 18 |
Chapter 2, section 1 and 2 notes and section 1
and 2 study guides. Organize binder. |

Aug 19 |
Have them complete Q-notes over Chapter 2,
section 3. They will have 5 headings
to turn into questions (the first blue heading and then the four black
headings). They will then use the
paragraphs that follow to “answer” that question. They should have 4-5 bullets for each
heading (around 25 total “bullets” for this section). |

Aug 22 |
Today they can outline (with our normal outline
format they are familiar with) sections 4 and 5, and then once you see they
are done, they can have sections 4 and 5 study guides. |
