Text Box: Coke Product Sales—Orders for Coke products must be turned in no later than November 9. Your orders may be loaded into your vehicle Friday, November 13, from 2:30-4pm in the bus parking lot. You may also pick up your products from 4-6pm in the cafeteria.

During past sales, many orders were not picked up on the delivery date, resulting in products being stored in the cafeteria for many days. This is not safe for the children that attend GCB, and it is not safe for the products your family and friends have paid for.

THEREFORE, ALL ORDERS MUST BE PICKED UP ON FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 13, FROM 2:30-6PM. THE PTA WILL NOT BE RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY ORDERS NOT PICKED UP ON THAT DAY. We will remind you prior to the pick up date.

Also, don’t forget to join us for McDonald’s night at the Towne Mall from 5-8 pm on November 24. Dining room only , so we’ll see you INSIDE!

**Date Changes** As a result of such a fabulous catalog sale, we will NOT be having our chili supper and silent auction in November.

If you need to contact the PTA, please use our new email address: gcbpta@yahoo.com.

Text Box: THE IMPORTANCE OF REGULAR SCHOOL ATTENDANCE!
It’s a fact that students who attend regularly learn more and are more successful in school than students who do not. Parents who make regular school attendance a priority are helping their children to learn responsibility. And that’s an important lesson for a successful life.
Attendance patterns are formed early in life. Children who develop good attendance habits in the early grades will be more likely to continue them throughout their school career. That’s important, because students who miss school, miss out on carefully planned instruction. They miss out on active learning experiences and class participation. They miss out on the opportunity to ask questions. They are more likely to fall behind. As they get older, they are more likely to drop out.

What Parents Can Do
Let your child know that you expect him/her to attend school everyday. Explain that, just as you have a job, it’s her job to go to school and learn.
Set a time for doing homework each evening and time for going to bed. Unfinished homework and too little sleep are common reasons why parents hear the words, “I don’t feel good,” on school mornings.
Try your best to schedule doctor and dentist appointments after school or on days when school isn’t in session.
Get involved with your child’s school. When she sees you actively involved in her school, she will understand that school is important.
The Parent Institute

Did you know? One missed day of school equals as many as three days of catch up to learn all of the missed information and skills.
