Text Box: Happy New Year, It’s hard for me to believe the year 2010 is upon us! I would hear “2010” discussed, and think that is so far away, but it is here. We continue to work diligently at providing our students an opportunity to learn the skills needed to be successful, as the GCB Mission Statement states, “We find success in each one, every day, someway.” As a reminder, if Internet access is available in your home, Odyssey Compass Learning is a great program for students to use at home to strengthen skills in reading, math, science, and social studies. A direct link is provided on the GCB webpage. The more time students spend on the program, the better the opportunity for skill enhancement. The possibility exists that the Lincoln Trail Area District Health Department may return to GCB to administer the second round of the H1N1 vaccine to those students age 9 or younger who desire the vaccine. Text Box: Weather Cancellations In case of inclement weather, please tune into your local radio stations and your local news for a list of cancellations. This includes closings that could take place throughout a school day. School Dress Code Reminder Students should be wearing tennis shoes or shoes with rubber soles to school. This is the safest and most appropriate shoe type to wear for movement around and outside of the school. Check to make sure your child has on appropriate foot wear before they leave the house in the morning.
