Text Box: Principal Pep Talk

August 5, 2011
Parents/Students,
Welcome to the beginning of a great school year! I hope your summer was full of fun and relaxation. Our staff has been working diligently to prepare for the 2011-12 school year. Our goals at G. C. Burkhead remain the same: “We find success in each one, some way, every day.”
I’d like to compliment those parents/students that drop off students in the morning through the first few days of school. Traffic flow has been very smooth, steady, and efficient. Thank you!! As construction continues on surrounding roadways, please take into account the extra time needed to get students to school before the bell rings at 7:40.
Please mark your calendar for September 6. We will have our first Parent Involvement Night of the school year that evening. Parents will get an opportunity to receive information regarding MAP testing, and be able to discuss 1st quarter progress with teachers. We would love to see you that evening!
If I can answer any questions, please call our office at 769-5983.
In Education,

Bryan Lewis
