Dear Parent/Guardian,

It takes heart to be a hero! I’m thrilled that Bluegrass Middle School is participating in a very special community service program - the American Heart Association’s Jump Rope For Heart. This event will take place during school on Friday, February 19, 2010.

By participating in Jump Rope For Heart, your child will join millions of other children across the country in a meaningful opportunity to learn and help others. They will learn how to take care of their heart through physical activity and nutrition and will learn about children who have been affected by cardiovascular disease and how they can help them. In short, your child will have fun and feel good by helping others.

Help your child get involved! First sign and return the permission slip on the back of this letter. At our school we as you to provide a minimum donation of $3.00 along with the permission slip. Then if you want to help them earn more thank you gifts, help with their fund raising! Your child will also be raising money to help others who have cardiovascular disease, including kids! Our Web site makes it easy. Your child can set up a Web page (with your permission) and you can e-mail friends/family to make secure donations. We are really excited about this year’s Jump Rope For Heart event and the experience it offers our students. We hope you will support your child’s participation in this lifesaving, educational event. I give my son or daughter permission to participate in this fundraising event for the American Heart Association at Bluegrass Middle School. I understand this is considered an In-School Field Trip and agree to pay a donation fee of $3.00 due with this note. I know of no reason why my child may not participate due to health reasons. Furthermore I will not hold the school, the American Heart Association, nor any person associated with the event, liable for injury or accident. I also understand the guidelines for the entry fee, which is a donation to American Heart Association.
