Classified Personnel Manual

Policies are reviewed annually. Changes are adopted by the board and become effective July 1 of the new school year.

The enclosed pages are only a selection of the entire set of Policies and Regulations. Policies are adopted by the board of education and when written are general in nature. Regulations which correspond to particular policies are more specific in nature and often include written procedures to help carry out the policy.

Policies are denoted by a numbering system in the upper right-hand corner of each page (example - 01.42). Regulations are also numbered in the upper right-hand section of the page, but can be distinguished from a policy by the initials "HCAR" which precede the number.

In the past few years, we have also tried to identify those policies which have a corresponding regulation by placing "(HCAR)" either behind the number or immediately below it on the policy page. When reading a policy with the letters "HCAR" placed in a parentheses, an employee will then know that there is a regulation which may spell out procedures or guidelines to follow.
