Welcome to the 2017-2018 school year! I am excited and energized to start my second year as the leader of a Distinguished East Hardin Middle School and I am deeply committed to making a positive difference in the lives of our students. Together we will provide the highest quality of education possible by setting high expectations for all students and providing supportive systems to assure they are met in a safe and supportive learning environment. Along with staff, I will work hard to continue the legacy of success established at East Hardin by building strong relationships with parents, students, staff and community partners.
I am pleased to share with you some of the exciting and outstanding programs we will offer this school year. East Hardin will continue to offer advanced content courses in all content areas as well as interventions in Reading and Math for students needing extra support. We will also offer for the fourth consecutive year a Chinese course for those students who qualify in the 7th and 8th grades. We are also excited to offer Project Lead The Way to both 7th and 8th graders as a part of their Related Arts quarterly rotation. Our extra-curricular activities continue to be the best in the district, such as sports for both boys and girls, Academic team, Band, Lego Robotics, VEX team and Speech team. We are also excited to share our new club day structure, EVERY student will be involved in something that interests them twice a month.
As the school leader, my door is always open and I welcome your input. Please feel free to stop in or call to make an appointment to discuss any concerns, suggestions or ideas to help make this the best year yet!
