Principal's Message

I am very excited about welcoming you to Vine Grove Elementary School, one of the top Elementary Schools in the state of Kentucky. It is a pleasure to serve the students, parents, and staff of this great community and I am eagerly anticipating another successful and rewarding year.  Through hard work, dedication, and teamwork, our teachers and support staff strive daily to provide a world class education to each and every student.

For those of you that are new to our community, please allow me to introduce myself.  Prior to joining the Vine Grove team, I worked as a math and science teacher for three years in the Elizabethtown City School District, and served as an assistant principal for thirteen years at James T. Alton Middle School right here in Hardin County.  I am now starting my 22nd year in education and my 6th year as Principal of VGE.

I recognize the start of elementary school (entering a new facility) can signal feelings of both excitement and nervousness.  However, we thank you for entrusting your children with the Vine Grove staff and we will make it a priority to provide a positive educational environment for them to work and learn.  We do not take our responsibility in providing a safe and nurturing environment lightly.  At Vine Grove, every student is important!!

Once again, we are honored to partner with you (our families) as your child embarks on the next chapter of their academic journey.  Those who know me understand I have an open door policy, and I welcome questions, concerns, and input at any time.

Proud to be a Trojan,

Mr. Sutton
